About
Practical coverage for people who make games on their own terms.
Indie Tooling covers the working side of independent game development: engines, asset pipelines, editors, and what it takes to get a small game out the door. Stories are short and practical, written for developers who would rather be back in their project than reading about it.
Who writes it
Indie Tooling is a small publication run by game developers. Stories are credited to the desk that covers their section — the Engines Desk, the Asset Desk, the Tools Desk and the Shipping Desk — rather than to individual writers. The desks are sections of one small team, not separate people.
Editorial standards
Stories describe things that happened, or habits worth keeping. We don’t invent version numbers, republish other outlets’ work, or dress up a store link as news. When something is wrong, we correct it and say so.
Disclosure
If a story mentions a product or studio made by the people behind Indie Tooling, it says so in the story.
